White spot disease on goldfish

White spots on my black moor goldfish!!

She is a 2 years old black moor goldfish and today I noticed a big white spot on her. (She has bladder problems, she had cloudy eyes disease about a month ago.)
She always gets medication. I decided to start to blog about her, because she is such a survivor.

Day 1: I noticed a white spot on her, I increased the amount of salt I usually give her, when I changed the water. Tomorrow I go to the pet store and ask what medication they recommend.

Day 2: I increased the amount of salt I usually give her and I used Health Guard:
The white thingy fell off after a day, she is perfectly healthy now. :D

  1. I had same fish, same problem with bladder and eventually got 1 white spot. It started pooping white a few days before dropsy got the best of her, but could have been Ich parasite too. I noticed when she died the white spot had fallen off, underneath it appeared to be a wound. A lot of the 'white spot' information out there says fish covered in many white spots, but maybe it can start from one? Was the white spot a scab? Or a parasite?

  2. Just remembered. The white bulge is actually one of the ways goldfish 'scab'. So maybe yours sustained an injury. It's when the goldfish becomes covered in numerous, smaller scabs at once is indicative of a parasite breakout, such as Ich
